SHRADDHA GUPTA, BORN IN 1999

PROLOGUE

Hey there, I'm Shraddha! I'm a UX/Graphic Designer with a passion for creating beautiful and functional designs that make people's lives easier.

One of the things I love most about being a designer is the ability to bring ideas to life. Whether it's designing a website or creating an illustration, there's something incredibly satisfying about seeing your work come to fruition. Plus, I love being able to use my creativity to solve problems and make people's lives better.

COMMUNITY

I've been involved with Enactus for a while now. I started out as a Social Media Coordinator, where I managed the organization's social media handles and helped redesign its website. But then I got promoted to Project Lead for Enactus Thrive Huddles, which was an amazing opportunity. As Project Lead, I facilitated mental health support groups for students. It was challenging at times, but also incredibly rewarding. Being able to help my peers and provide support when they needed it most was a humbling experience for me.

PUBLICATIONS

I had the incredible opportunity to document the protests in Shaheen Bagh through my photographs, which were featured in The New York Times article. Capturing the essence of the movement and the unwavering determination of the women involved was both a privilege and a responsibility. Through my lens, I aimed to convey the strength and resilience of these women as they braved the harsh Delhi winter, standing united against a discriminatory citizenship law.

"This Is 18 Around the World" - Photo-essay piece included in the book "This Is 18," an expansion of an Oct. 11 project from The New York Times (2019). The book showcases visual documentaries from female photographers around the world, and my work was selected for the cover.

This project showcases a series of powerful photo essays that beautifully capture the diverse experiences and aspirations of young adults transitioning into adulthood. Through intimate portraits, candid interviews, and personal stories, the project highlights the challenges, dreams, and unique perspectives of individuals from various cultural backgrounds.

Moving to Canada

I have always wanted to live abroad. After losing my photography job in covid, I decided to pursue a career that is pandemic-proof. I started with a bunch of online courses and kept coming back to design. That's when I decided to move to Canada and pursue a career in product design.

Passion for Travel

Coming from the majestic himalayas, wanderlust runs deep within me. There's a whole world out there waiting to be discovered, and I want to be right in the middle of it all. From wandering through vibrant street markets to hiking trails and tasting local cuisines, every moment is an adventure. Traveling constantly reminds me that there's so much more to life than what I see in my everyday routine.

Love for Analog

Imagine this: a classic camera with vintage films, creating a whole new world of enchantment. And let me tell you, the anticipation is unreal! The excitement of waiting to see those developed photos gives me butterflies. It's like opening a time capsule, my personal escape into a world where reality merges with dreams.

Mind-Altering Fiction

When it comes to anime, I'm an absolute fanatic, especially when it comes to mind-bending movies that twist my perception of reality. And there's one director who has mastered this art: Satoshi Kon. From the mesmerizing world of Satoshi Kon, films like "Perfect Blue," "Paprika," and "Millennium Actress" have forever changed the way I see anime. These cinematic masterpieces took me on an exhilarating journey where dreams, illusions, and the human psyche collide.

Design, at its core, should be a gateway to equality, enabling everyone to navigate the world with confidence and dignity. Together, let's build a more accessible and inclusive future through design.
